Who can apply?
Anyone who is 16 years of age or over can apply for housing by registering an account and completing the online application form.
In order to register an account you will need the following information:
Click here to go to our Help page for further guidance on registering an account.
Important: Make sure you write down your login reference number, memorable date and password as you will need these to log back in to your application.
Completing the online application form
Once you have registered an account, you will need to complete the social housing application form from your 'my account' page. Make sure you click 'apply for social housing' to start the application.
The application will ask you a series of questions about your household, current housing situation and property requirements. It should take approximately 20 minutes to complete the application but you can save the form and return to it at a later stage.
It is important that you submit accurate information as this will be used by the Housing Association and Council's private sector lettings team as part of the shortlisting process.

What happens next?
Once you have submitted your online application, you will be told whether you need to provide some evidence to confirm whether you are eligible to join the waiting list. Click here to view details of evidence required and how to submit this. If no evidence is required, your application will be activated immediately and you will be able to start bidding for properties straight away.
Applications will usually be activated in the Property Shop band, however you may qualify for a higher band depending upon your circumstances. If you have ticked any of the Housing need reasons in the 'why you want to move' section of your application, you will need to provide some evidence to support your application for a higher band. Click here to view details of evidence required and how to submit this.
You should start saving for rent in advance as soon as possible as some Housing Associations and private landlords require up to 4 weeks rent to be paid in advance of the tenancy commencing. You will need to make sure that you have saved money for this, otherwise you may not be offered the property.
