How is banding awarded?

You will be awarded a band on your application depending on your current housing situation and housing needs. There are 3 priority bands:

• Band 1
• Band 2
• Band 3

The criteria for each of these bands is set out in the Bradford Disrict Allocations Policy. Click here to view Bradford District Allocations Policy.

If you do not meet the criteria for any of these bands, your application will be placed in the Property Shop.

What evidence is required?

If you have ticked any of the Housing need boxes on the 'why you want to move' section of your application, you will need to provide evidence to support the award of a higher band. Please click on the statement below that reflects your housing circumstances to view the evidence required.

• I am an approved foster carer or adopter (supported by Bradford Council) and require a larger property
• I require an adapted property
• I or my household's health is affected by my current property
• My household is overcrowded by more than 2 bedrooms
• I am living in supported accommodation and I am ready to live independently
• I am suffering from financial hardship and moving would improve this
• I or a member of my household needs to move for employment reasons or to take up an offer of work
• I need to move to look after or care for someone that lives in the district
• I need to move to be closer to someone that lives in the district so that they can care for me or a member of my household
• I am a social housing tenant from outside the district that needst to move to avoid hardship or for employment reasons
• Bradford Council's Housing Standards Team have served a suspended prohibition order on my property

If you have not ticked any of the Housing need boxes, you do not need to provide any supporting evidence.
